• Ex-pageant director reaches plea deal (easternnewmexiconews.com) — Alamogordo will host this year’s Miss New Mexico pageant June 9–13, even as a former pageant director elsewhere in the state has just taken a plea deal for misdemeanor embezzlement. Greg Smith agreed to probation and over $12,000 restitution to three former contestants after most felony charges were dismissed.
