The top spellers are now eligible to compete in the state competition on March 11. They are:

The Albuquerque Public Schools Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, March 3. The competition went 17 rounds. The winning word was REPOSITORY.

- First Place: Garrick Tam, 8th grader at Cleveland Middle School
- Second Place: Luke Brown, 5th grader at Dennis Chavez Elementary School
- Third Place: Harika Reddy, 5th grader at Georgia O'Keefe Elementary School
- Fourth Place: Dat Do, 8th grader at Hayes Middle School
- Fifth Place: Rhaya Gurrola, 7th grader at Jefferson Middle School
