• 'Absolutely thrilled': Recovery programs go head-to-head in community softball game (koat.com) — More than 50 participants from two Albuquerque recovery programs kicked off a new Recovery Softball League at Grant Middle School, offering a sober way to reconnect with community life. Organizers say the games support addiction and mental health recovery, and the league's founder now hopes to secure city funding to expand across Albuquerque and nearby counties. 
• New promoters aim to expand Albuquerque boxing (abqjournal.com subscription) — Albuquerque fight fans could soon see more local boxing cards, with two new promotional companies forming and one targeting an October 3 event, pending state approval. Local fighters like Yoruba Moreu II and Abraham Perez feature prominently in the plans, alongside updates on Albuquerque Muay Thai fighter Nick Gjelaj's recent title challenge in Houston.
