• Town of Bernalillo partners with Sandoval County for Mountain West Fall Fest, Car Show (krqe.com) — Bernalillo residents can enjoy a free, family-friendly Mountain West Fall Fest and Route 66-themed car show on Saturday at Loretto Park and the nearby church grounds. Running from morning through evening, the celebration offers live music, food vendors, a pumpkin patch, and unique car show trophies, all timed to catch visitors right after Balloon Fiesta mass ascensions. 
• Skip the Fiesta gridlock: Sandoval County serves up balloons, burritos and breathing room (sandovalsignpost.com) — Bernalillo locals have their own Balloon Fiesta escape with today’s free Mountain West Fall Fest at Loretto Park, plus a Spartan Showdown cornhole tournament at Rotary Park on Oct. 11. The guide also points you to nearby Corrales art shows, book sales, growers’ markets, and a Route 66-themed glow in Los Ranchos, all offering alternatives to Balloon Fiesta traffic.
