Bravo Mic Communications and DACC to Host Stuff the Bus School Supplies Drive (lascrucestoday.com) — Las Cruces families have a chance this Saturday to stock local classrooms by donating supplies at Doña Ana Community College’s annual Stuff the Bus drive on the East Mesa Campus. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents can drop off backpacks, basic school supplies, and hygiene items that will go directly to students and teachers in Las Cruces Public Schools.

4. Las Cruces man's suicide attempt kills his mother, police say (abqjournal.com subscription) — Police say a July 1 shooting at a north Las Cruces home left 58‑year‑old Tina Lucero dead after she tried to stop her son from harming himself. Investigators believe a struggle over a handgun led to a single shot that wounded the son’s hand and fatally injured his mother, and they plan to charge him with involuntary manslaughter.
