• After record-breaking summer heat, green chile production in New Mexico craters (krqe.com) — Green chile lovers in North Valley are facing long lines and early sellouts as Rosales Produce’s Albuquerque shop runs out of about 8,000 pounds of chile by noon most days. Record-breaking heat, grasshoppers, and heavy rains have sharply reduced New Mexico’s chile yields, and growers warn the season could end earlier than usual, so residents should plan ahead.
