• Ruidoso Casino Closes, But New Mexico Purse Fund Gets Lifeline (paulickreport.com) — Ruidoso Downs’ casino has shut down after flood damage made its main entrance unsafe, but state regulators kept its gaming license active so 300 slot machines at Sunland Park and Zia Park can keep funding New Mexico race purses. Wildfire and flood impacts had already pushed Ruidoso’s 2026 race meet to Albuquerque, and racing officials now must decide what happens to Ruidoso’s 47–49 traditional race dates.
