• Road work begins on US 54 between Tularosa and Carrizozo (koat.com) — If you drive US 54 in or out of Tularosa, expect weekday lane closures and delays for several months as a $7.89 million repaving project gets underway between Tularosa and Carrizozo. Crews will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., improving about 10.7 miles of pavement and guardrails, with completion targeted for early November, weather permitting.
