Attention students and families: Help improve our community AND enter a raffle to win a great prize at a community walk and cleanup sponsored by Do the Right Thing.

The event will run from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday – tomorrow. It will start at 106 South Pearl St. (the old McDonald's) and end at Philip Street Park. The goal of the event is to improve the look, feel and quality of life for the neighborhood.
Participants will remove garbage and debris all along the route, which runs from Pearl to Arch Street to Grand Street to Madison Avenue to Philip Street. Children age 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Afterward, any Albany student who participated walk will get a t-shirt and be eligible to win a prize to be raffled. Adults who come to supervise their children and/or participate in the event will be provided with a t-shirt (until we run out) but adults are NOT eligible to win the prize.
Water and light snacks will be provided to all participants of the detail at the starting location and ending location. Water will be available during the walk.
Do the Right Thing is a joint program of the Albany Police Department and the City School District of Albany. The initiative acknowledges students for their accomplishments, positive behavior and good deeds.
