Please welcome Ken Keefer as the City School District of Albany’s new director of facilities.

In this role, Keefer is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight and supervision of the grounds and custodial staff throughout the district. The Board of Education appointed him to the position at its meeting Thursday night. He will start officially Nov. 22.

Keefer joins the district after 35 years in the maintenance and construction fields, including 27 in positions of increasing responsibility in the maintenance department at the University at Albany. He has most recently served as the facilities management trades shop supervisor, and prior to that spent two years as the university’s downtown zone manager.

Keefer is a volunteer firefighter and past volunteer chief with a local fire company.
