How To Vote In Albany On Tuesday

Voters in Albany are voting for mayor and nine of the 15 seats on the Common Council as well as a pair of statewide issues.

Election Day is today, and residents of Albany are going to the polls to vote for mayor and members of the Common Council. There are also three statewide ballot issues for their consideration.

So how do you cast your vote Tuesday in Boise? First, you need to find your polling place. Visit the website for the Albany County Board of Elections and enter your address. The site will then provide the name of the facility, the address, and the polling hours, as well as the contact for general registrar information.

The main race is for mayor and the incumbent, Kathy Sheehan, is expected to be reelected. She faces three others but all are on minor party lines.

Nine of the 15 seats on the Common Council are also up for election as are the offices of treasurer and auditor. There is also a race for judge.

People will also be able to vote on whether or not the state should have a constitutional convention. It's an issue brought before the voters every 20 years.

There are also two ballot propositions: one which would remove public pensions from elected officials convicted of corruption and the other which would create a "land bank" that would allow for some development in the state's forest preserve.
