New York Communities To Share How They're Fighting Opioid Abuse
Lawmakers included more than $200 million in this year's state budget for efforts to prevent and fight addiction.

ALBANY, NY — The New York state Senate plans to meet on Tuesday in Newburgh to hear from local law enforcement, mental health experts and the loved ones of those lost to heroin and opioids. Republican Sens. George Amedore, Fred Akshar and William Larkin will host the meeting.
A Republican Senate task force previously held similar hearings throughout the state to learn more about how local communities are fighting the scourge of drug abuse and addiction.
