All defendants were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Town of Albion Court, underscoring ongoing local efforts to pursue fraud-related offenses.

News10NBC Investigates: Nurse denied prison visit after body scanner finds 'masses,' guards interpret as contraband (whec.com) — Visitors to Orleans Correctional Facility in Albion are raising alarms after body scanners flagged medical devices and possible health issues as suspected contraband, costing some women their visits. One nurse from Albion now plans medical follow-up and worries whether she can attend her upcoming prison wedding, while a state senator pushes a bill to change scanner procedures.
3. GO Art! director says organization committed to new arts center at Fairgrounds (orleanshub.com) — A major new arts and cultural center is being planned at the Orleans County 4-H Fairgrounds, positioned between Medina and Albion, and could cost more than $20 million. GO Art! has a large state grant in hand and is now aggressively seeking additional foundation support and local donations to build the three-story “GO Barn!” with galleries, studios, classrooms, and workforce-focused arts and agriculture programs.
4. 4 face felony charges from crack cocaine investigation in town of Barre (orleanshub.com) — A local resident from Caroline Street in Albion is among six people charged after investigators say they uncovered packaged crack cocaine, paraphernalia, and weapons during a search in nearby Barre. One defendant also faces a bench warrant from Albion Town Court, and all six have been ordered to appear in Barre Justice Court next month as the investigation continues.
