• 2 Mosquito Samples Test Positive For West Nile Virus In Aquebogue: Health Officials (patch.com) — Mosquitoes trapped in Aquebogue have tested positive for West Nile virus, prompting Suffolk County health officials to urge residents to take extra precautions against bites. The county reports over 100 positive mosquito samples this season and one human case in Brookhaven. Locals are encouraged to use repellant, remove standing water, and report dead birds or mosquito problems to county agencies.
