LIE Drivers Face Delays After Queens Car Fire Stops Traffic
Drivers on the Long Island Expressway will face delays after a car fire temporarily shut down eastbound traffic by Greenpoint Avenue.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Drivers will face delays on the Long Island Expressway in Queens after a car fire temporarily shut down eastbound traffic on Friday, traffic cameras show.
A vehicle caught fire by Greenpoint Avenue on the Long Island Expressway about 4:20 p.m., just ahead of the Friday evening rush hour, according to the FDNY.
The state transportation department's traffic cameras show the entire eastbound side of the LIE closed while firefighters responded.

The city is warning drivers to expect eastbound traffic delays. The following bus routes are running with delays because of traffic by Queens Plaza, the MTA said: B62, Q32, Q39, Q60, Q66, Q67, Q69, Q100, Q101, Q102, QM2, QM3 QM20 and QM32.
Authorities are diverting traffic off at Borden Avenue, WCBS reported.
