NYPD IDs Suspect In Queensboro Plaza Attack After Second Stabbing
After stabbing a man in the face at a Long Island City subway station Friday, the suspect attacked a second person in Jackson Heights.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — New York police are searching for the person they say stabbed a man in the face at a busy Long Island City subway station Friday before attacking a second person in Jackson Heights on Saturday.
Police on Saturday identified the suspect as Donny Ubiera, 32, of Queens. Authorities say Ubiera randomly stabbed a 62-year-old man on board a 7 train as it pulled into the Queensboro Plaza subway station Friday morning.
The rush-hour attack happened around 8:40 a.m. on a Manhattan-bound train when police say Ubiera used a knife to stab the man, unprovoked, in the right side of his face and hand, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The suspect got off the train and exited Queensboro Plaza to the street level, police said.

Authorities have also tied Ubiera to another stabbing that happened Saturday at 74th Street and Broadway station. According to police, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Ubiera approached a 55-year-old male and displayed a large knife. He then proceeded to stab the victim in the neck before fleeing to street level.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical but stable condition. A knife was recovered on scene by responding officers, police said.
