• Boat Catches Fire, Drifts Toward Bulkhead In Bay Shore: FD (patch.com) — A boat caught fire and drifted dangerously close to the bulkhead near Bay Shore Marina, drawing a response that included Town of Babylon Public Safety Bay Constables. Firefighters quickly secured the unoccupied vessel with help from Suffolk police marine units and a mutual-aid fireboat, then extinguished the engine-compartment blaze in under an hour. No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.
