• $2K Reward Offered After Turtle Found Tethered Underwater In Deer Park Lake (patch.com) — Town of Babylon park rangers rescued a turtle found tethered in a submerged cage at Geiger Park Lake in Deer Park, and the Suffolk County SPCA is now offering a $2,000 reward for tips. Babylon-area residents who were near the lake that afternoon are urged to report anything they saw, as investigators call this a rare and serious case of animal cruelty. 
• After $10K+ Theft, West Babylon Scouts Get New Trailer (patch.com) — West Babylon Boy Scout Troop 2014 is back on its feet after losing a $10,000–$12,000 equipment trailer, thanks to a donated replacement and strong support from the Town of Babylon community. Scouts from West Babylon, North Babylon, Babylon and nearby areas are now working to restock camping gear and memorabilia, turning a discouraging theft into a lesson in resilience and local generosity.
