Babylon AP Scholars Earn Top Marks
College Board Recognizes Students in 2023 for their Advanced Placement Performance
The College Board has recognized 52 current and former Babylon Junior-Senior High School students as Advanced Placement Scholars for the 2023-2024 school year. These awards, which are divided among three categories, were bestowed upon the students based on their exceptional achievement on the national Advanced Placement exams last spring. The students and their accolades include:
- 31 students who qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. They are Talia Baker, Gwendolyn Basile, Emilio Cardillo-Schrader, Sophia Conti, Alexandra DiLauro, Brooke Gengler, Maeve Graham, Ava Hanson, Kayla Hayes, Aedan Hodges, Jameson Howard, Kelly Loodus, Dean McDonough, William Post, Leena Qamar, Zach Smith, Sara Womack, Ethan Albert, Sofia DeSa, Jackson Esposito, Gwenyth Fawess, Sebastian Melendez, Tyler Molinaro, Philip Molnar, Kate Obrien, Megan Omalley, Paige Seegers, Mia Shek, Megan Snyder and Brett Womack.
- 11 students who received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning a 3.25 on all AP exams. They are Matthew Heffer, Emily Hoberman, Logan Marrin, Elizabeth Orifici, Nicholas Roche, Trevor Thuma, Paul Catalano, Nicolas Giammarino, Molly Higgins, Kiera Mroczka and Lisa Petraitis.
- 10 students who were granted the AP Scholar With Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of the exams. They are Aemen Iqbal, Britisha Tavera, Ashley Burke, Caroline Cassidy, Lindsay MacQuarrie, Matthew Nyman, Anna Paisley, Madeline Romaine, Andrew Scheriff and Alice Schubart.
“This stellar showing by our AP students is a testament not only to their hard work, but also the academic support systems in place throughout our K-through-12 environment,” said Superintendent of Schools Carisa Manza. “Congratulations to these students, and all of the teachers and counselors who have shepherded them through their time here in Babylon schools.”
