Babylon High School Class Of 2020 Graduates
The school honored the students with four special ceremonies following health guidelines this past weekend. Congrats to all the seniors!

BABYLON, NY — The coronavirus pandemic has put a hold on a lot of things but it couldn't stop the class of 2020 from celebrating their graduation. Babylon High School honored their graduating seniors with a series of four graduation ceremonies this past weekend.
On Friday, all 135 members of the graduating class gathered on the school’s football field for a "Senior Farewell" event. Due to Governor Cuomo’s 150-person capacity limit for graduations, only students were permitted to attend, but the event was live streamed so that families could watch from home.

Wearing masks and separated by six feet, the seniors first listened to a reflection by senior class president Madaline Graham. Then principal Al Cirone spoke to the class followed by speeches by salutatorian Katherine Hannon and valedictorian Anna Romero Mejia. Finally, a farewell address was given by math teacher Frank Mancuso, for whom the students had voted to speak.
Then on Saturday, the school held three diploma conferment ceremonies, during which the
names of all graduates were announced. Each session included 45 students, each of whom
were allowed two guests. Graduates left these ceremonies with their tassels on the left side
of their caps and as official high school alumni.
