Babylon School District Appoints 2 Top Administrators
Danielle Flaumenhaft and Robert Lorefice will serve as elementary school principal and assistant plant facilities administrator.

BABYLON, NY — The Babylon School District announced the addition of two new top administrators, including the elementary school principal, on Friday.
Danielle Flaumenhaft was appointed as principal of Babylon Elementary School. She replaces Travis Davey, who has taken a new administrative position within the Babylon School District.
Flaumenhaft comes to Babylon from the West Babylon School District, where
she previously served as a literacy consultant, elementary assistant principal and principal.

“I feel very fortunate to spend my day with such an amazing community,” Flaumenhaft said. “From my first day, I was welcomed by everyone, and it is clear that this is a community that works together for the children who live and go to school here in Babylon.”
Flaumenhaft holds a bachelor of science degree in education from SUNY Cortland and a master’s degree in international education and development from Boston University. She also holds a master of science in literacy from Dowling College and an advanced graduate certificate in administration from SUNY Stony Brook.

Babylon School District also named Robert Lorefice as assistant plant facilities administrator.
Prior to joining the administrative team in Babylon, Lorefice worked in a number of different capacities at the Brentwood Union Free School District. He began his career in Brentwood Schools as a custodian in 2005 and moved to the position of maintenance mechanic plumber in 2007. In 2018, he was promoted to school maintenance crew leader.
“I am really excited and grateful for the opportunity in my new role as the assistant plant facilities administrator here at Babylon,” he said. “I am really looking forward to integrating all the knowledge and experience I have learned throughout the years being in facilities and applying it toward my new role here.”
Lorefice holds a bachelor’s degree in facility management and industrial technology from SUNY Farmingdale. He also holds several certifications in plumbing systems and installation.
