Babylon Town Recognizes 1st Suffolk AFC Urgent Care Center

Babylon Town presented a Town Certificate of Recognition commemorating largest national franchise AFC Urgent Care's Suffolk debut.

July 9, 2018; Babylon, NY– American Family Care (AFC), the nation’s leading provider of urgent care and largest privately owned operator of urgent care and accessible primary care facilities in the United States, is expanding its signature brand of quality health care with the opening of its second urgent care center on Long Island in West Islip (125 Sunrise Highway in West Islip, NY), which also represents the second location on Long Island. A special grand opening ceremony was recently held at the Center in West Islip that was attended by several local dignitaries, including Town of Babylon Councilman Anthony N. Manetta, New York State Senator Philip Boyle, Suffolk County Legislator Steven J. Flotteron and Town of Islip Supervisor Angie M. Carpenter, who were joined by American Family Care Long Island Managing Partners Lou Dionisio and Justin Schwartz. During the event Town of Babylon Councilman Manetta presented Mr. Dionisio and Mr. Schwartz with a Babylon Town Certificate of Recognition commemorating the opening of AFC Urgent Care’s first Suffolk location.

Following its Long Island debut in East Meadow in 2016, AFC Urgent Care is making a $27 million investment to bring nine (9) centers to Long Island within the next four (4) years, starting with its first ever Urgent Care Center in Suffolk County in West Islip. The Center features new health care amenities that include primary care services and allergy treatments. A telemedicine program and a concussion clinic will open in 2019.

AFC Urgent Care provides immediate quality health care services within its convenient, caring and comfortable environment. The brand new state-of-the-art 3,000 square foot facility features five exam rooms, two triage rooms, a procedure room and digital x-ray services.   • Patients being seen in an expedient amount of time for acute illness and trauma (including minor surgical procedures)
  • On-site laboratory services
  • Affordable services covered by most insurances, including Medicare
  • Discounts on services for patients that pay with cash (out-of-pocket costs are a fraction of what patients could pay for a trip to an emergency room).
  • Minimal wait time in a comfortable setting

Staff is trained on a regular basis. AFC Urgent Care also reviews internal systems and operations monthly. AFC Urgent Care centers are locally owned and operated. Owners and staff attend community events, local school programs and are seen around town.

Mr. Dionisio and Mr. Schwartz have the exclusive rights to franchise AFC Urgent Care within Nassau County and Suffolk County. They have made a $27 million investment to bring nine (9) centers to Long Island within the next four years, starting with West Islip. Oceanside and/or Franklin Square are the next potential locations. Each AFC Urgent Care start-up location raises between $2 million to $3 million.
