Babylon Wins, Completes Perfect Regular Season

As the "Perfect Storm" bears down on Long Island later this weekend, a storm of sorts occurred in Center Moriches on Friday night – the Babylon Panthers ran away with their eighth striaght win, 34-0, completeing a perfect regular season run.

The Panthers – 8-0 in eight games – will open the postseason as a number-one seed, alone on top of Suffolk County's Division IV teams.

Babylon got on the board early and often – as it has done all season long. Quarterback Nick Santorelli, who has proven himself as more than able this season as both a passer and runner, took the ball 20 yards into the endzone for an early 7-0 lead. On the next possession, Santorelli threw the ball 24 yards to a waiting Alec Zamet for another TD and a 13-0 lead.

Jake Carlock, who also has had quite a season as a wide receiver, flashed his skills on defense, bringing down two intereceptions during the game. Defenseman Brian LosKamp also pushed his rising star up, taking down the Center Moriches quarterback twice during the game.

Kicker Alex Malhas broke a school record this season by converting 28 straight point-after kicks.
