Closed Babylon Parks To Reopen This Week
Two local parks that were closed down to help keep with social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus, will reopen Friday.

BABYLON, NY — Two Babylon parks that were closed down to encourage social distancing during the coronavirus crisis will be opening back up this week. Earlier this month, Mayor Ralph Scordino closed down both Southards Park and Argyle Park.
Through all the measures taken by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to help stop the spread of the virus, including the closure of all non-essential businesses, parks and other open public spaces remained open.
However village officials took extreme precautions by closing the local parks for the past couple of weeks after seeing the crowds that congregated in the park.

Now both parks will reopen once again, starting Friday. Officials still requests that those visiting the parks "act responsibly, wear facial coverings, practice social distancing and follow guidelines," according to a post on the village's Facebook.
