Second Babylon Park Closes To Enforce Social Distancing Rules
Officials have closed another local park in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

BABYLON, NY — A second Babylon park has been shut down to help resident abide by social distancing rules in light of the coronavirus outbreak. On Tuesday, village officials announced that Southards Park will be officially closed to the public as of 9 a.m. until further notice.
Officials say the decision was made as a health and safety precautionary measure. Barricades and signs have been posted and additional measures will be taken to secure the property from public access. Additional signs have been posted as well on neighboring blocks leading into the park. Code enforcement will be patrolling and enforcing the closure.
On Friday, Mayor Ralph Scordino announced that Argyle Park was closed to encourage social distancing as coronavirus cases continue to rise.

As of Tuesday, there are a total of 15,049 cases of coronavirus reported in Suffolk County including 2,322 in the town of Babylon.
