Marathon Training Run Set Thursday
Course to prep runners for Oct. 30 marathon for veterans
Local runners will gather in Huntington Thursday to help prepare themselves for the Suffolk County Marathon on Oct. 30.
Runners will set off from the Super Runners Shop at 355 New York Ave. Huntington, at 6:30 p.m., following a course north that takes them on either a 5-mile or 9.33-mile loop back to Huntington Village. After the run, participants are invited to join in a raffle and a happy hour at Meehan's of Huntington at 371 New York Ave., Huntington.
“This is a great opportunity for runners to train for the Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon or 5k,” County Executive Steve Bellone said. “It’s also a chance for runners to get out and enjoy Huntington’s downtown and its beautiful scenery.”
