Mary Carroll’s Robbed At Gunpoint

The Babylon bar was robbed last Friday, police say.

BABYLON, NY – A Babylon Village bar was robbed at gunpoint last Friday, Suffolk Police told Patch Monday.

It happened at Mary Carroll's on Deer Park Avenue just after 4 a.m. A man armed with what appeared to be a handgun stole money from the bar, police said. Police did not release a description of the robber.

Conor Hartnett, the owner of Mary Carroll's, said the robbery happened after hours, "when any patrons were long gone."

Hartnett said the robber was armed with "a BB gun that looked very much like the real thing."

"I am glad that nobody got hurt," Hartnett said. "The Suffolk County Police response was tremendous and I want to thank them very much for that. And I have full faith that the SCPD with bring the perpetrator to justice."
