N. Babylon Man Hit by Car in Deer Park Seriously Injured

A 57-year-old North Babylon man was seriously hurt after he was struck by a car in Deer Park on Saturday night, police said.

According to police, Oscar Rivera was crossing Bay Shore Road, near Carlls Path, at about 10:15 p.m. when he was hit by 2003 GMC Yukon that was traveling west on Bay Shore Road.

Rivera suffered a head injury and was transported by North Babylon Rescue to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

The driver, William Moseley, 59, of Wyandanch, and his female passenger were not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.

The accident occurred about two hours after a Deer Park teen was fatally struck by a car about a mile away on Long Island Avenue.
