'Snow' Ordinary Lesson for West Babylon Students
Students take to the snow using snowshoes in outdoor lesson.

Fifth-grade students of Tooker Avenue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District didn’t let the abundance of winter snow in February slow them down.
In 2006, physical education instructor Michael Bellacosa wrote a mini-grant that resulted in the school obtaining 30 sets of snowshoes. The shoes are used, when weather permits, in support of lifetime activities, an important element of the physical education curriculum.
After the latest storm, students hiked on school grounds, ran relay races and finished the lesson with a small touch football game.
