If you were looking for a new relaxation spot in Babylon Village, the wait might soon be over – Spalax will open its doors to the public soon. Spalax, a day-spa service, is currently being worked on and remodeled within 38 East Main Street, located next to Captree Opticians. The storefront was formerly occupied by a T-Mobile Phone Store, but had been unoccupied for the last six months of 2012. T-Mobile opened in the location in February 2012. Spalax, of course, comes from the amalgamation of the words "spa" and "relax." The new day spa will feature facials, body treatments and massages, including couple and foot massages. Signs on the window also note the spa will offer gift certificates. There was no word yet on when Spalax would open – however, signage has been applied already, usually a final step.
