Village Store Honors 9/11 Heroes

Pandemonium honors the many local first responders and residents affected by 9/11 on the 10th anniversary with a carefully chosen window display.

Jacqueline Di Donato, the owner of Babylon Village clothing boutique Pandemonium, said she had been considering doing a window display to commemorate 9/11 for several Septembers and finally decided to create the store's tribute this year, for the tenth anniversary.

"I kept overhinking it," she said, "because I didn't want to profit in any way from it, but we wanted to show how we felt, from the heart. People have come in asking to buy the police shirts, and other items, but I don't want to sell them."

The police and fire uniforms were donated by loyal customers and local families, and the large poster that says "We will never forget" in a symbol of the Big Apple was specially ordered by Di Donato.
