Woman Robs West Babylon Bank

Robbery occurred Thursday afternoon.

A woman robbed a West Babylon bank on Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to police, the woman entered the HSBC Bank, located at 85 Route 109, and displayed a note demanding cash at about 3:15 p.m.

The teller complied with the robber’s demand and gave the woman an undetermined amount of cash, police said. The robber fled on foot northbound through the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 5-feet tall with a medium build, between 30 and 35-years-old with light brown hair. She was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a baseball cap and sunglasses.

A woman with a similar description tried to rob a Bayport bank on March 21, but police did not say if they believe the incidents are connected.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
