
Police are searching for a woman who tried to rob a Bayport bank on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the woman entered Chase, located at 925 Montauk Highway, at about 1:40 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller refused to comply with the woman’s demands and the suspect fled the bank, police said.
The woman was last seen fleeing in a dark-colored SUV westbound on Montauk Highway.

The woman was described as between 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4 and approximately 30-35 years old. She was wearing sunglasses, a baseball hat and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
