2 Police Officers, Neighbor Help Save Life Of 71-Year-Old Woman
The trio reacted quickly after the Bay Shore woman went into cardiac arrest in her home this month.

BAY SHORE, NY - It was a group effort to save the life of a 71-year-old Bay Shore woman after she went into cardiac arrest recently. The two police officers and a neighbor reacted quickly and came to the rescue during the scary incident earlier this month.
The woman was inside her Potter Boulevard home when she began having chest pains and her husband called 911. Third Precinct Police Officer Christopher Verwys arrived along with Roy Ekelund, a neighbor and a member of the Bay Shore Fire Department. The two began CPR and used an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on the woman. Then third Precinct Police Officer Michael Dormer arrived and assisted the two.
The woman was then transported to Southside Hospital by members of Bay Shore-Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance. She is expected to make a full recovery.
