Bay Shore Man Gets 22 Years For Sexually Abusing Girlfriend's Daughter, DA Says (patch.com) — Bay Shore residents are learning that a 39-year-old local man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison, plus 20 years of post-release supervision, for repeatedly sexually abusing his girlfriend's young daughter. Prosecutors say the abuse, which began in 2020 when the child was 8, continued until late 2024, and the girl's disclosure to family and police led to his conviction by a Suffolk County jury.
2. Bay Shore Woman Admits To Fatally Stabbing Ex-Boyfriend: DA (patch.com) — A Bay Shore woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for fatally stabbing her ex-boyfriend near the Bay Shore Long Island Rail Road station in 2025. Prosecutors say she confronted and followed him through the station area before the attack, and she now faces 15 to 25 years in prison when sentenced in January 2027.
3. Bay Shore Scrapyard Fire (1strespondernews.com) — Bay Shore firefighters and mutual aid crews responded Sunday afternoon to multiple vehicles burning at a scrapyard on Moffitt Boulevard, operating several ladder trucks and engines under a single incident commander. No injuries were reported, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the blaze at the Bay Shore site.
4. Long Island kids froze thinking a cop was coming to stop their game (latination.com) — A Suffolk County police officer and former Bay Shore High School soccer star surprised Long Island teens by joining, not stopping, their nighttime game at SSG James D. McNaughton Memorial Park. His skilled one-on-one showdown, captured on video, went viral and is being praised as a feel-good example of community policing and positive youth engagement across the region.
