This adorable new addition to the Bay Shore school distirct will help in the district's new geese-removal program.

BAY SHORE, NY - The Bay Shore school district recently welcomed Sam, the new district dog.
Sam is a border collie born in Wales and trained by Fly Away Geese to chase birds.
He is part of Bay Shore's new geese-removal program.

The district had received quotes for use of an outside company for monthly costs of up to $2,000.
Over the course of his lifetime, the use of a district-owned dog is estimated to save a total of $250,000.

Sam will work everyday with head groundskeeper Rob Knapp, and will live with the Knapp Family.
