BAY SHORE, NY - An online fundraiser was started to help the Bay Shore High School team Robotics Team raise money for a team trailer. The team, comprised of 20 members, work with engineers from different fields to create robots and compete at regional competitions.

The team were winners at the Duel on the Delaware competition, semi-finalists at the Championship Archimedes, quarter-finalists SBPLI 2, semi-finalists at SBPLI 1 and regional winners at the Finger Lakes competition.

The team travels to six competitions a year, making it difficult and expensive to transport all the supplies needed. The team is looking to purchase a team trailer to be able to carry the tools, machines and robot to each competition.

In addition, the trailer would provide extra space to store travel equipment, freeing up room in the team's shop.

In order to help the team, a Bay Shore teacher started a GoFundMe to raise money for the trailer. The goal of the page is to raise a total of $10,000 by January 2020. As of Wednesday, the page raised $420.
