Local Credit Union Opens First 'Digital' Branch
Customers might notice a few differences in the new branch.
A local credit union recently announced they have opened up a new branch in Bay Shore - but customers might notice a big difference in this branch.
That's because NEFCU's new branch is the first branch to be completely digital and will have no tellers on site.
The branch will serve as a prototype for future branches.

The 2,000 square-foot branch, located on 2 E. Main Street, features two interactive teller machines (ITMs), a stand-alone ATM, a digital solutions center, and digital rate board.
NEFCU is the only credit union on Long Island to offer ITMs, or “live video tellers." They plan to introduce ITMs to existing branches in the future.

This is the third Suffolk County branch, and 13th Long Island branch for the credit union.
Last month the credit union opened a branch in Huntington Station.
Customers will be able to use touch-screen monitors to download product brochures, obtain the latest rates, and access information about the credit union’s products and services.
“Our Bay Shore location has been built on an advanced digital platform, and will truly be a harbinger of what we plan on introducing for all our future branches,” Eileen Nolan, executive VP, chief marketing and sales officer said. “Providing a member-centric experience in a tech-centric environment will certainly appeal to younger members and to those who seek convenience and efficiency when it comes to banking.”
The Bay Shore branch hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
