Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit On Sunrise Highway In Bay Shore: Police

The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Friday.

BAY SHORE, NY — A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore early Friday morning, Suffolk County police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash occurred on Feb. 13 around 5:20 a.m. Detectives from the department’s Major Case Unit are investigating the incident.

Police said it remains under investigation whether the pedestrian was in the express portion of the eastbound Sunrise Highway or on the eastbound service road at the time he was struck.
