Police Seek Driver Who Left Scene Of Fatal Bay Shore Crash

Police are looking to identify the driver who left the scene of a Bay Shore crash that killed an elderly woman in March.

According to authorities, a 1999-2002 gray Nissan Maxima was driving eastbound on Main Street, east of Brentwood Road, when the vehicle struck an 83-year-old woman on Sunday, March 5 at 4:40 p.m.

The woman suffered a severe head injury and was hospitalized following the crash. She died of her injuries on Friday, April 7.

Police say the Nissan’s passenger side mirror was recovered at the scene and may have since been replaced. Pictured above is a car similar to the vehicle that fled the scene.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
