3rd Shooting In Bay Shore In A Week
A man was injured on 2nd Avenue after a driver pulled up and someone fired multiple shots, police said.
BAY SHORE, NY — A man was injured Saturday in the third shooting in a week in Bay Shore, according to Suffolk police.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired and found a man shot on 2nd Avenue at 3:40 p.m., police said. The man was standing in front of a house when a car pulled up and an occupant fired multiple shots, striking the man, police said. The man was hospitalized and expected to survive.
No arrests have been made. Detectives asked anyone with information to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Earlier this week, calls to 911 reporting shots fired on Princeton Street were received on Monday at 11:22 p.m. and then again on Tuesday at 11:36 p.m. No one was injured. Shell casings were recovered at both scenes.
Police believed the two earlier shootings might be related and connected to a gang dispute, but did not say if the third shooting was also believed to be connected.
