Bayside Basketball Coach Arrested For Punching Player: Report

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Nassau County police arrested an intramural basketball coach from Bayside for punching a boy during a basketball clinic on Long Island, according to news reports.

Cheikh Khadim Ndiaye, 28, faces assault and child endangerment charges for allegedly punching a 10-year-old boy in the arms during the Saturday afternoon clinic at Sid Jacobson Jewish Center in Greenvale, News 12 Long Island reported.

Police said the incident happened during a game described as "knockout," and that the victim "complained of substantial pain and bruising," according to Newsday.

Police are investigating the incident and whether any other clinic participants were struck. The Jewish Center suspended Ndiaye without pay and banned him from the premises pending an investigation, according to News 12 Long Island .
