Bayside Historical Society Signing Up Runners for Totten Trot
Annual five-mile race will take place on Oct. 27 at Fort Totten.

The Bayside Historical Society is now signing up runners for the 12th annual five-mile foot race at Fort Totten.
The Totten Trot will be held on Oct. 27 with sign-in at 7:30 a.m. and the race starting at 9 a.m.
This year’s course will be slightly different due to the ongoing construction in the parking lot of Little Bay Park.

Participants will run through one loop in the fort and one loop on the esplanade overlooking Little Neck Bay along Joe Michael’s Mile.
Additionally, runners will be permitted to park within Fort Totten at designated locations.

The divisions for the race will be 14 years and below, 15-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70-79 years and 80 years and above.
The entry fee for the race is $25 for those who register through Oct. 10. Participants who sign up on Oct. 11 through the day of the race will pay $30.
Prizes at this year’s Totten Trot include $75 for first place winners, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.
There will be a raffle prize of $50 as well as designer T-shirts for the first 100 registrants and runners who sign up by Oct. 10.
Goodie bags with complimentary gifts from local merchants and sponsors, which include Bourbon Street and Papazzio’s, will also be handed out.
The historical society is located in Fort Totten’s castle at 208 Totten Ave. in Bayside.
