Bayside Motorcyclist Dies After Losing Control Of Bike: NYPD

WHITESTONE, QUEENS — A Bayside motorcyclist died Sunday after losing control of the bike and crashing into a parked car, police said.

Joseph Calvacca, 30, was riding a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle along Utopia Parkway near 22nd Avenue about 1:42 p.m. when he lost control and fell off the bike, according to police.

Calvacca was thrown from his seat into a parked SUV, knocking him unconscious, police said.

Emergency responders rushed Calvacca to Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
