Bayside Woman Arrested in Early A.M. Crash on Jericho Turnpike

Nassau County Police have charged a 26-year old Bayside woman with driving while intoxicated following what detectives labeled a "serious" auto accident on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola early Friday morning.

Nicole Godulias, 26, was allegedly driving a 2003 Volkswagon Jetta Westbound on Jericho Turnpike when she collided with a 1997 Chevy van being driven Westbound by a 44-year-old Garden City Park man.

The incident occurred at 2:48 a.m. Friday morning near the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and Jericho Turnpike.

The driver of the van was treated and released from a local hospital. A 23-year old female passenger in Godulias' vehicle suffered internal injuries and is in serious condition at an area hospital. Godulias suffered two broken arms and a broken foot. The investigation is on going at this time.

Godulias, 26 is charged with driving while intoxicated and was issued a desk appearance ticket. The investigation is on going at this time by members of the Homicide Squad.
