Bayside residents reached out to news reporters and local officials after receiving an alert last week from the Crime Victims Center that several sex offenders had moved to their zip code, with Anchor Inn listed as their address.

Anchor Inn is about 161 feet away from The Learning Experience's Academy of Early Education and about 1,500 feet from elementary school P.S. 31Q, according to Google Maps. State law prohibits registered sex offenders who are on parole or probation from living within 1,000 feet of a school.

"Nothing trumps the safety and security for our families, especially the protection of young children, and these individuals must be moved out immediately."
