Name: Danielle Schaefer

Age: 20

School: Queens College

Accomplishments: Winner of the 2011 Rivka Fox Youth Award — an honor bestowed upon her by the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council — for outstanding service to the community.

Key to Awesomeness: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a double minor in secondary education and psychology, Danielle is a member of the MT4 Math Tutoring club and president of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.

Still she makes time to participate in numerous community service projects and remains a volunteer at the Samuel Field Y, where she's a proud alumnus of the Teen Council Youth Group.

For over five years, Danielle has dedicated herself to serving the Little Neck Community and has volunteered in many different sectors at the Y, including the youth department, the after-school day care program, the summer camp and, most recently, the “In School Youth” program for at-risk high school students.
