• Beacon to Name Deputy Administrator (highlandscurrent.org) — Beacon residents may soon see a new face helping run City Hall, as the City Council is expected to vote Monday on hiring Cold Spring Deputy Mayor Tweeps Phillips Woods as deputy city administrator. She was chosen from 85 applicants and would start Sept. 29, bringing experience from New York City government and nonprofit leadership to manage capital projects, grants, and public engagement.
   

• Arnott's Section 9 Football Rankings: Who's Moving Up? (midhudsonnews.com) — Beacon football fans can celebrate as the Bulldogs are ranked second in the Section 9 Class B/C/D poll after a dominant win over Red Hook, improving to 3-0. The team's balanced offense faces a big test against Marlboro this week, in a slate of matchups that also features Middletown, Cornwall, Port Jervis, and other regional powers.
