12-Year-Old Raped In The Back Of Brooklyn Livery Cab, Cops Say
A driver has been charged with rape after police say he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old passenger in the back of his cab near Bed-Stuy.
BROOKLYN, NY — A livery cab driver has been charged with rape after police say he climbed in the back seat and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old passenger in Brooklyn.
Rafael Martinez, 32, is accused of picking up the 12-year-old girl near Fort Greene Park around 6 p.m. on Monday after her parents called an independent cab company to bring her to Bed-Stuy, police said.
The girl was going home from her relative's house, sources told the Post.

The girl told police that at some point during the trip, the cab driver parked the car, got into the back seat and raped her, police said. He then got into the driver seat and brought her to her destination, police said.
The 12-year-old was taken to Woodhull Hospital after the incident, where police were then called around 8:45 p.m., police said.

Martinez, who is from Cypress Hills, was charged Tuesday with rape, sex abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing, assault and a criminal sex act.
