2 Dead After Bed-Stuy Shooting, Cops Say

A 24-year-old and 26-year-old man were found shot in the chest on Herkimer Street on Monday, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Two men are dead after a shooting outside a Bed-Stuy apartment complex on Monday, police said.

Cops found the 24-year-old man and 26-year-old man, both with gunshots to their chests, in front of 700 Herkimer St. just after 9:30 p.m., according to police. Both men were taken to Interfaith Medical Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

There were no arrests in the shooting as of Tuesday morning.

The shooting is at least the second in Bed-Stuy in just four days as the neighborhood and the borough deal with an ongoing surge in gun violence.

On Friday, a mile from the Herkimer Street shooting, two other men were shot in the torso on Monroe Street. One of the men from that shooting died from his injuries and the other was sent to the hospital in serious condition, according to police.
