3 Men Shot Behind Bed-Stuy Apartment Building, Cops Say

Three men in their 20s were sent to the hospital after being shot behind an apartment building on Dekalb Avenue, cops said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Three men were shot in the back of an apartment building on Dekalb Avenue late Sunday night, according to police.

Three men, all in their 20s, told cops that they were shot around 10:30 p.m. behind 456 Dekalb Avenue, near Classon Avenue, according to police.

One of the men, a 22-year-old, was shot in the back, another, also 22, was shot in the shoulder and a third man, 27, was shot in the leg, police said.

They were all taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police said Monday afternoon that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing and that there have been no arrests.

The incident is the latest in a shooting surge in the neighborhood as the officials face a citywide spike in gun violence.

There have been 32 shooting incidents so far this year in Bed-Stuy's 79th Precinct, compared to 20 during the same time period last year, according to NYPD data. The number of shootings throughout northern Brooklyn have nearly doubled compared to last year, the data shows.
